Den 3. juni indtager Nas og Wu-Tang Clan Royal Arena til en ikonisk koncert!

Wu-Tang Clan fandt sammen i Staten Island, New York City i starten af 90’erne. Gruppen består af medlemmerne RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna og den afdøde rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard (ODB). Navnet Wu-Tang Clan er en reference til en kampsportsfilm fra 1983.

Ført an af RZA’s produktioner har Wu-Tang Clan skabt deres helt egen lyd, som ofte indeholder samples fra gamle kampsportsfilm, såvel som samples fra klassisk funk og soul-numre fra artister som Rick James, James Brown og Syl Johnson. Som gruppe har tre ud af deres i alt otte albums opnået platinstatus. Gruppens samlede bagkatalog, inkl. soloalbums, når op på hele 85 fuldlængde albums. Gruppen er dog mere end bare rappere, de er iværksættere og succesfulde kulturbærer, der har opbygget et imperium bestående af alt lige fra tøjmærker og videospil, til bøger og spillefilmsroller.

Wu-Tang Clan bliver af mange betragtet som den største hip-hop-gruppe nogensinde. De har turneret som konstellation siden deres debutalbum, ’Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’, udkom i 1993. Det tredobbelte platincertificerede album skød gruppen ind på scenen med numre som ’C.R.E.A.M’ (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) og ’Protect Ya Neck’, der er nogle af de mest genkendelige numre i hip-hoppens histore.

Deres live-optrædener er en familieaffære, hvor hvert medlem af crewet fremviser sine lyriske bidrag til Wu-Tangs otte studiealbums, såvel som nogle af de største numre fra deres soloudgivelser. Med det guddommelige Wu-Tang ”W” flankeret på alle sider af scenen, kombineret med genkendeligheden i deres musik får deres unikke shows en bred appel.

Om de spillede numre fra ’36 Chambers’ fra start til slut på deres 25 års jubilæums-tour, eller sange fra GZA’s skelsættende ’Liquid Swords’, eller Raekwons mafiosoalbum ’Only Built 4 Cuban Linx’…, eller hvis de hylder deres afdøde bror Ol’ Dirty Bastard, så er hvert Wu-Tang Clan show en fejring af deres karrierer og storhed, både som soloartister, men især som den mest historiske gruppe i hip-hoppens levetid.
